A Shortcut to Infinity / The Way Home Lies in Her Hair by Lali Nicole Young, painted in February 2025 is now available as a signed museum quality, fine art print in a variety of sizes. All visual art prints are made locally with unionized print shops in Tucson, AZ.

This original acrylic painting makes its debut at "Beautifully Bold" art exhibition in Tucson, Arizona curated by Randiesia Fletcher of Living2Protraits.

The painting is inspired by a real incident that Lali Nicole experienced while riding the bus in Manhattan where a stranger on the crowded bus pulled a couple of strands of her afro without permission.

"I felt violated, sure. I also understand that a giant afro in Manhattan in the early 2000s was a rarity for people of all nationalities to see close up...even for other black people. Afros were not trendy then but I have loved my natural hair since childhood. Watching Chris Rock's documentary "Good Hair" reminded me of how lovely black hair is in its natural state. I feel joy and pride with my natural hair because it specifically belongs to black people, the first modern human beings to populate Earth. The afro is controversial, resilient and defiant. Everyone loves a rebel." ~ Lali Nicole Young
